Trouble

After the pump starts, no water is sucked in, and the pointers of vacuum gauge and manometer beat heavily.

The pump doesn’t suck any water, but high vacuum is indicated on the vacuum gauge.

No water is pumped out, but high pressure is shown on the outlet manometer.

The flow rate is decreasing or the head is low. 

Over consumption of the pump power.

Unexpected noises are heard and no water is sucked.

The pump vibrates heavily.

The bearing is overheated.


reason

The water poured into the pump is not enough.
Leakage of air is found the suction pipe.
The foot valve is not opened.
The resistance of suction is too high.
The suction head is too high.
The rotary direction is not right.
The suction resistance is too high.
The impeller flow channel is clogged.
The number of revolutions is inadequate.
The impeller flow channel or inlet pipe and outlet pipe are clogged.
The seal ring or the impeller is worn out.
The running speed of the pump is lower than the rated.

Packing is too tight and the impeller is rubbed by double suction seal ring.
The flow rate is too large.

The suction resistance is excessive.
The suction head is too high.
Leakage of air is found from the suction pipe.

The impeller is not balanced
The pump shaft is not concentric with the motor.
The nuts of foundation are loose.
The grease is not enough or too much or turns rotten.
The pump and the motor shaft is not concentric.

Remedy

Pour water into the pump again.
Block the leaking place.
Open or renew the foot valves.
Clean or renew the suction pipe.
Make the suction head lower.
Change the rotary direction.
Check the length of the pipe.
Clean the impeller.
Increase the number of revolutions.
Clean the impeller and pipes.
Replace the worn parts.
Increase the number of revolutions.
Loosen the packing gland.
Clear up the mechanic friction.
Turn the discharge valve smaller.
Check the pipe and the foot valve.
Make the suction head lower .
Block the leaking place.
Adjust the discharge brake valve under specific working condition.
Correct static balance of impeller.
Correct the coaxial degree between pump and motor shaft.
Screw the nuts of the foot bolts tightly.
Check the bearing and replace the oil.
Correct the coaxiality of the pump and the motor shaft

How to solve the problems of Horizontal multistage pump -www.gm-pumps.com

D type horizontal multistage pump  is applied to transport clear water or some other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to clear water. it is widely applied in plant and city water supply

If there is problem for the pump, how to solve it? today the engineer of Shanghai Guomei Pump Co.,ltd will give some suggestions:

1. If the pump doesn't suck water, the points of the pressure gauge and vacuum gauage slings violently, then check the foot valve to see whether there is water leakage and then adequate water shall be fed into the pump. Screw down the air leakage location


2. If there is pressure down on the pressure gauge, but there is still no water coming out of the pump,  then check or shorten the pipe, check up the motor,  wash the impeller,  speed up the rotation speed

3. If the capacity is below the requirement as designed,  then Washt he pump and pipe, replace the seal ring, speed up the rotation speed
